Book What is Architecture?
Granada, 2013
From protest book to tool for the spreading of ideas.
This book is part of the Action #NoalaLSP: SEÑOR MINISTRO, ARQUITECTURA ES. It compiles answers to the question “What is Architecture?” posed through social media during the protest. First, these answers were published in a blog, and then they were gathered in this book.
The protest-book follows the format of a log; it is organized by days replicating the blog, showing the definitions by categories. Three copies of the book were printed, and one was delivered in person to the registry of the Ministry in Madrid.
The digital version of the book has been used by professors as teaching material, and it has also been transformed and turned into new creations.
An evolution of the book was an editorial experiment by which the quotes were given the format of sugar packets, with the goal of becoming a tool of popular and massive dissemination in places related with architecture, such as architecture schools, but also as an excuse to talk about architecture over a cup of coffee anywhere. The idea is for these definitions to infiltrate everyday life and raise the interest of anyone in architecture.
