KAUH ARCHITECTURE AND LANDSCAPING

KAUH are Vincent Morales Garoffolo (Albuquerque, NM, USA, 1976) and Juan Antonio Sánchez Muñoz (Cádiz, Spain, 1977). We both received our architecture degrees from the Escuela Técnica Superior de Arquitectura of Sevilla in 2003. Juan Antonio also holds a Masters degree in landscaping, gardening and public space from the University of Granada (2013-2014), and Vincent translates texts specialized in architecture.

After working in The Netherlands at VHP and WEST 8 respectively, in 2004 we established our own practice under the name kauh arquitectos. Between 2004 and 2012 we worked from Seville, and as of 2012 we do so from Granada. Recently, we have renamed our office KAUH ARQUITECTURA Y PAISAJISMO. With a multifaceted profile, for the most part we work in the Andalusian context.

Among the different fields architecture covers, our professional activity focuses on building, public space and landscape design. Hand in hand with this practice, we carry out projects in the editorial field related with the spreading of architecture. And we also participate in actions that offer us the opportunity to reflect upon the city, the discipline itself and its relationship with society. To this we must add independent research work with a specific interest in the study of landscape and design projects in heritage contexts, within the conceptual framework of the historic urban landscapes.

This range of work, all linked to the most diverse scales and aspects of the architectural discipline, have led to invitations to participate in conferences, courses, workshops and other teaching experiences, as well as to take part in juries and committees to assess projects.

In our practice as a whole, we believe in the perceptive and relational experience that our work generates in the construction of our environment. All of this is interwoven by our foremost interest: to materialize and add quality to what belongs to everyone, to the places in which we all interact, the places in which the collective is expressed.
